Moms + Identity in Christ

As women, we probably aren’t always thinking about our identity in Christ each day. We’ve got mouths to feed, errands to run, jobs to work, and a home to take care of. It’s easy to get caught up in life and go through our days without considering what it means to be God’s child.

But what if we did pause to consider our identity in Christ?

How could that impact our daily life? Would it make a difference?

I’m excited to share three truths from God’s Word regarding your identity in Christ. Dwell on these today and consider how differently your day could be if you walked forward confidently in your true identity!

Redeemed

I’ll be honest with you. I don’t wake up in the morning and consider the fact that I’m redeemed. I actually tend to think more about the mom-guilt I carry rather than redemption offered to me.

Why is that? Why do we dwell more on our failures than God’s grace?

What if instead we made it a point to saturate our minds and affirm our identity in Christ and became confident in our redemption?

That way, when the guilts of life start to creep in, we can confidently put them back in their place and not be weighed down by them. Guilt has no place in God’s Kingdom. He offers grace instead.

God’s Word tells us in Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says– he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

Can you picture God whispering to you to not fear and assuring you that he has redeemed you? To consider what our day would look like to know that we are HIS and He’s 24/7 assuring us that we’ve been redeemed through Jesus Christ!

Precious.

When I consider something to be precious or valuable, my thoughts go to my children and my family. I don’t often consider myself to be precious. I’m too busy trying to take care of my precious family!

Did you know when God thinks of us though, He considers us as HIS precious children?

Isaiah 43:4  tells us, “Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you..”

Has someone told you lately how precious you are to them? God thinks about you every single moment of every single day and considers you to be absolutely precious! He’s crazy about you!

To truly know we are dearly loved and precious in His sight impacts everything. When we know our identity in Christ is wrapped in pure adoration from the God of the universe, we have no greater love than His!

This world may not always treat you as valuable, but pause a minute and consider the value and preciousness you are to God. He gave His only Son for you and He gives Himself every single day.

I pray you let His words and love cover you and the ways of the world are tossed aside and worthless compared to Truth!

Chosen

Chosen and cherished. It’s what our hearts seek. God knew this and provided His Son to bridge the gap so that we could be His alone.

He chose you. He always does.

Sometimes we don’t always feel chosen. Our days get into a daily grind and we may feel like we’re just going through the motions.

But God never wants us to get caught up in our days without His guidance and direction. He chose us - as His special possession - to give us abundant life through Jesus!

1 Peter 2:9 tells us, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Have you ever thought about yourself as chosen royalty? You are!
Friend, adjust your crown and accept God’s truth about you. Through Christ, you are redeemed, precious, and chosen!
